I will not print his name, as he deserves no recognition for himself or his art, but the man responsible for the vandalism of a Picasso in Houston surrendered to police after a mulit-month Mexico exile.
One message to him and the gallery that gave him a show...nothing he did was original. Nothing he did was unique. No message he spread was new, insightful or well constructed...
I'm all for making great, important statements in art. If your idea of that is destroying someone else's work while providing no insight (or real effort) of your own, then screw you and whoever defends you.
The only thing he did was threaten the ability for the rest of us to get
near, experience and enjoy important works of art. Every artist should be ashamed.
